    Reducing Sulfide and Pollutant Concentrations in Wastewater from a Food & Beverage Plant

    At an F&B industrial site in Israel, a 150 m³/h ozone nanobubble system was installed to treat sulfide-rich wastewater. The on-site solution—featuring three reactors and ozone generators—ensures regulatory compliance by oxidizing pollutants without chemicals. This eco-friendly approach improved effluent quality and enabled safe discharge to the regional WWTP, avoiding fines and supporting sustainable operations.

     Industrial facilities, especially beverage plants, generate wastewater containing pollutants such as sulfides, which can lead to environmental hazards and exceed discharge limits set by regional wastewater treatment authorities. Without proper treatment, plants face significant fines and potential legal consequences.
    The wastewater from this food and beverage plant showed varying pollutant levels depending on the time of day and season. Wastewater is treated near the production facility using anaerobic digesters, followed by a DAF (Dissolved Air Flotation) unit before being discharged into the public sewage system. However, elevated sulfide levels post-treatment caused regulatory violations, resulting in fines and legal exposure for the plant.

    Installation of a high-capacity (150 m³/h) ozone nanobubble system comprising three reactors and ozone generators. This system oxidizes sulfides intensively using ozone nanobubbles without additional chemicals, enabling safe discharge of the treated wastewater into the regional WWTP in compliance with strict environmental standards.

    Thanks to the nanobubble ozone treatment, the plant achieved effective purification of its wastewater, resulting in improved effluent quality and full compliance with environmental regulations, thus avoiding further fines. Additionally, the method offers an eco-friendly solution that eliminates harmful chemical additives.
